Lifelight Health – treating the untreatable

Efficient. Fewer side effects. Patient-friendly.
Paul Ehrlich, German doctor and Nobel Prize winner, presented his vision of the “magic bullet” back in 1900 - a drug that specifically attacks pathogens without harming the body. This vision has inspired medical research for over a century now.

Despite many medical advances, such magic bullets are rare and their development remains a major challenge. Medicines often spread throughout the body, causing unwanted side effects and only insufficiently reaching their site of action.

This is where we come in. Our unique drug implant enables localized therapy at the push of a button, exactly where and when it is needed. The result is a more effective treatment with significantly fewer side effects. This is how we transform conventional medication into real magic bullets.

Pilot project: Brain tumor
Glioblastoma, one of the most common and aggressive brain tumors, has a very low survival rate. Although previous approaches to local chemotherapy have shown advantages, they have not yet been implemented optimally.

Our newly developed depot represents an effective alternative. It enables long-lasting, local treatment that ensures a high concentration of medication directly at the tumor - and only there. We believe that this will not only improve treatment efficacy, but also drastically reduce the typical side effects.

Our system
Various implantable drug depots already exist, most of which use a biopolymer to slowly release drugs. However, this process can no longer be controlled after implantation.

Lifelight Health has developed an innovative linker technology that enables a new dimension of control. Our technology makes it possible to anchor medication stably in our depot. With a simple push of a button, we can dissolve this anchor and release the medication in a targeted and repeated manner.
